There Are No Squirrels in Lethbridge was funded by Telus Storyhive, the Alberta Film Commission and the National Screen Institute. We turned our $25,000 in grant funding + $13,105.00 in private and crowdfunding ($38,105.00 total) into a 51:25 minute long, ACTRA accredited, rollercoaster ride through the nostalgia, turmoil and socio-political millieu of 1990s Lethbridge, Alberta.

The Sizzle:
Eliza Hellina is not just a killer; she is a curator of justice. Operating out of a high-end tattoo parlor, she uses human flesh as her canvas, targeting those who have escaped or abused the law. But art requires an audience.

In a calculated move to cement her legacy, Eliza begins a dangerous correspondence with a young journalist, leaking details about her latest "installations." This draws out Detective Vieta Quadira, sparking a psychological game of cat-and-mouse where the crime scenes are clues, and the bodies are the message.
