Aspiring and emerging screenwriters, seize this unique opportunity to expand your narrative prowess with 'The Screenwriter's Toolkit: Writing, Resources, and Legal Literacy.' Dive deep into the mechanics of compelling storytelling, discover essential resources for screenwriters, and understand the critical legal aspects of the industry, including Canadian copyright laws and the importance of maintaining a clean chain of title.

In this masterclass, you'll explore the art and science of screenwriting, from structuring your screenplay to developing characters that resonate with viewers. Learn where to find invaluable writing resources, like Stage32.com, a premier networking and educational site for screenwriters and filmmakers globally. We'll also cover legal literacy, teaching you how to navigate copyrights and ensure your work's legality and marketability through a clean chain of title.

Your instructor, Nick Bohle, is an award-winning actor, director, producer, and filmmaker with extensive experience in Western Canada's film and television industry. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction from the University of Lethbridge [2017] in directing, acting, and playwriting, Nick brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insights. Land Acknowledgement
HatChap Productions Inc. would like to acknowledge that, here in Lethbridge, we live, work and play on the traditional lands of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksikaitsitapi) which includes the Kainai (Blood), Siksika (Blackfeet), Piikani (Peigan), The Stony Nakoda, and Amskapi Pikuni (North Peigan) peoples of Treaty 7 lands; as well as many other indigenous brothers and sisters which include the Métis of Region III. Their beautiful and intricate beliefs, values and spirits have called this land home since time immemorial and we are all blessed to live and learn on these lands alongside these important and incredible cultural backgrounds. We implore you to consider the sacrifice, trauma and patience all indigenous people in these lands have endured and make every effort to reconcile and repair the unimaginable pain that European descendants and ancestors brought upon them.
